Job Title: Social Worker - Assessment and Intervention

Essex County Council is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Assessment and Intervention team. As a key member of our Children and Families service, you will play a crucial role in supporting children, young people, and their families.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment where social work thrives. As a Social Worker in our Assessment and Intervention team, you will be responsible for managing a defined caseload, working closely with children, young people, and families/carers to bring about positive change and improved outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments, purposeful interventions, and reviews related to Child Protection, Child in Need, and Children Looked After.
  • Engage in S47 child protection inquiries, collaborating with partners like the police, and seamlessly transfer cases to Family Support and Protection Teams when longer-term intervention is necessary.
  • Manage a defined caseload, working closely with children, young people, and families/carers to bring about positive change and improved outcomes.
Requirements:

To excel in this role, candidates should hold a diploma or degree in social work, be registered with Social Work England, and demonstrate practice aligned with current professional standards. A solid understanding of social work knowledge, emotional intelligence, and analytical skills is essential.
