Position Overview

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Community Engagement Specialist to become a part of our Community Mental Health Support Service (CMHSS)

This is a full-time, fixed-term position with potential for extension

This role is primarily remote, but candidates should reside in the Newcastle upon Tyne area or its vicinity.

Role Responsibilities

As a Community Engagement Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to assist the Team Manager in establishing connections between community resources and service provision. You will be instrumental in organizing and enhancing resources, support networks, and public relations related to the CMHSS.

You will collaborate with the Team Manager to oversee engagement and impact, while actively seeking to optimize partnership opportunities. Additionally, you will support the Team Manager in ensuring that the service operates effectively within the community framework established by our organization.

Key Duties

  • Create and sustain pathways between statutory and voluntary community services to enhance the client experience.
  • Lead the development, execution, and maintenance of an annual initiative aimed at promoting wellbeing for individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • In partnership with the Team Manager, cultivate and sustain relationships with Primary Care Networks, statutory bodies, and voluntary organizations to promote work, educational, and recreational opportunities for individuals facing complex mental health challenges.
  • Perform any reasonable tasks or responsibilities necessary to fulfill the organization's needs.
