We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Formulation Technician II to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our laboratory operations team, you will be responsible for the preparation of antimicrobial solutions, set-up and monitoring of production dispensing pumps, and manufacture of various vital ancillary solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation of Antimicrobial Solutions: Prepare antimicrobial solutions in accordance with relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and production paperwork, including weighing, dissolution, and dilution.
- Production Dispensing Pumps: Set-up and monitor production dispensing pumps to ensure on-time and quality production output, including pouring, priming, and weight checks.
- Ancillary Solutions: Manufacture various vital ancillary solutions, including ID media, buffers, and excipients.
- Compliance Checks: Conduct compliance checks of laboratory equipment and instrumentation, including pipettes, balances, and extractors.
- Raw Material Stock Levels: Maintain and supervise raw material stock levels, including consumables, intermediates, and equipment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Support the laboratory by washing and autoclaving equipment, including pumps, glassware, and other items.
- Computer Software: Use computer software to process information, including SAP ERP, Microsoft Office, and customized programs.
- Standard Operating Procedures: Capable of following standard operating procedures and H&S guidelines.
- Partnership and Interpersonal Skills: Good partnership and interpersonal skills.
- Task Coordination: Able to coordinate and prioritize tasks under own initiative.
- Attention to Detail: Attention to detail when following procedures and keeping manual records.
- Dexterity: Ability to perform sophisticated manual tasks with dexterity.
- Digital Literacy: Basic digital literacy would be beneficial.
- Laboratory Experience: Laboratory or similar (e.g. kitchen) experience is an advantage.
- Manufacturing Environment: Exposure to a fast-paced high-efficiency manufacturing type environment would be valuable but not crucial.
- Education: Ideally educated to A-level standard or equivalent in a scientific subject.
