Position Overview: The University of Cambridge is in search of a highly skilled individual to oversee our Facilities Operations Team. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the effective and dependable daily management of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the operational management of the building, ensuring both proactive and reactive maintenance.
  • Oversee special projects from inception to completion, ensuring accountability throughout.
  • Manage a comprehensive maintenance service for all mechanical and electrical systems, collaborating with internal teams and external contractors as needed.

Project Management: You will work closely with senior leadership to plan, implement, and supervise any modifications or renovations within the facility. Additionally, you will serve as the Fire Safety Officer and oversee Health & Safety protocols for the Facilities Operations Team.

Team Leadership: This role includes the management of a Maintenance Technician and an Electrician Technician, as well as oversight of contractors and University staff involved in facility operations.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess relevant experience in a mechanical/electrical maintenance setting within the industrial or commercial sectors. While experience with Building Management Systems (BMS), mechanical services, and electrical distribution is preferred, we welcome applicants with a strong potential to learn and grow in this role.
