Job Summary

Macildowie Recruitment and Retention is seeking an experienced Senior Category Manager to drive the success of our client's product lines in the health and wellness industry. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and analyzing market trends to inform product innovation and differentiation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Development: Lead the development and execution of category strategies, identifying market opportunities and trends to drive product innovation and differentiation.
  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and ensuring a reliable supply chain.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to understand consumer needs, competitor activities, and emerging trends in the supplements industry.
  • Product Performance: Monitor and analyze product performance, making data-driven decisions to optimize product offerings, pricing, and promotional strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, technical, and nutrition teams to ensure successful product launches and ongoing category performance.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, working with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure optimal stock levels and product availability.
  • Financial Accountability: Manage the category's P&L, ensuring profitability targets are met and contributing to the overall financial goals of the business.

Person Profile

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in category management, from a product management or buying background, preferably within retail, health & wellness, food, or beauty.
  • Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
  • Good commercial acumen with the ability to measure success and failures.
  • Proven track record in negotiating with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Qualification in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
