We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Patient Care Support Specialist to become a vital part of our healthcare team. This role is essential in providing high-quality support to our clinical staff and ensuring the well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

As a Patient Care Support Specialist, your primary duties will include:

  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Performing patient-centered tasks and accurately documenting information in patient records.
  • Conducting vital sign assessments, including height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Assisting with diagnostic procedures such as urinalysis, spirometry, and ECG recordings.
  • Supporting the collection of patient history and health status data.
  • Engaging in infection control practices and maintaining cleanliness of medical equipment.
  • Aiding in the administration and management of medical supplies and specimens.
  • Participating in health promotion initiatives and maintaining patient education resources.
  • Assisting with minor medical procedures and wound care as required.
  • Contributing to the organization and restocking of clinical areas.
  • Performing administrative tasks related to clinical operations.
  • Supporting audit processes and maintaining accurate patient notes.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs, including English and Mathematics.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care.

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification.

Experience and Skills

Essential

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service orientation with a focus on patient satisfaction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and organizational skills.
  • Effective time management capabilities.
  • Confidence in interacting with healthcare professionals.
  • Familiarity with IT systems, including word processing and spreadsheets.

Desirable

  • Accredited in phlebotomy.
  • Certified in immunization and vaccination procedures.
