Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Nurse Specialist to join our team at Brownlow Group Practice. As a Specialist Practitioner, you will work across the four pillars of advanced practice, leading and delivering Nurse-led respiratory clinics for patients with asthma and other respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality care to patients with asthma and COPD, ensuring assessments are completed and coded to meet Quality Outcomes Framework requirements.
  • Use non-medical prescribing to review medications, including maintenance therapy and acute self-management plans.
  • Assess and optimize inhaler technique, considering greener respiratory care options.
  • Provide written personalized asthma/COPD action plans.
  • Review patients admitted to emergency care settings with acute asthma attacks or COPD exacerbations within 2 working days of discharge.
  • Interpret spirometry testing as required.
  • First contact assessment, examination, and management of patients presenting with acute respiratory problems, including potential COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Build links with and liaise with secondary care and community services.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, carers, relatives, and the multidisciplinary team.

  • Registered Part 1 NMC
