Job Overview

In response to the growth of our imaging services, we are seeking a Band 4 RTT Compliance and Administrative Support Specialist to become a vital part of our expanding Administration team within the General Imaging department.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to engage in a dynamic environment where the successful applicant will collaborate with a vibrant team. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks, exercise initiative, and maintain flexibility to achieve designated objectives and timelines.

Candidates should possess or be eager to quickly develop a thorough understanding of the Elective Patient Access Policy, RTT Guidelines, and DM01 standards. Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities are crucial, as the role requires managing individual workloads to meet established targets, often under pressure. Proficiency in computer systems is also a fundamental requirement for this position.

The successful applicant will be responsible for inputting and extracting data from Patient Administrative & Radiology Information Systems, CRS, Qliksense, and spreadsheets as part of their daily responsibilities.

A solid administrative background with excellent organizational skills is essential. The ideal candidate will actively embody our WeCare values and behaviors.

Key Responsibilities

The primary objective of this position is to actively validate and monitor the referral to treatment processes within a patient's diagnostic journey. Responsibilities include escalating the following to service and clinical leads:

  • Any delays arising from inadequate clinical information that hinder the patient's progress.
  • Pathways requiring an event or scheduled activity to be expedited in accordance with DM01 guidelines.
  • Trends or recurring issues related to incorrect requests or data entry concerning individual patient pathways.
  • Significant data quality concerns or errors that may occur.

  • Significant administrative or secretarial experience, including maintaining office and patient record systems.
  • Previous NHS experience in patient pathway management and interaction with staff, patients, and the public.
  • Familiarity with CRS, RISe / PACS, Healthroster, and Oracle systems.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working in a similar office or NHS environment adhering to RTT national targets.
  • Experience in patient interaction and handling sensitive or confidential information.

Knowledge

Essential Criteria

  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and the Data Protection Act, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and trust while being aware of information governance requirements.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the Diagnostic Patient Pathway and its relevance within the National RTT framework.
  • Knowledge of computerized software packages, including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and CRS / RISe / PACS.

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge and experience using Qliksense (DM01 validation) and WeInform Platform.
