Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our client's finance team as a Financial Reporting Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accountant to take on a key role in supporting the finance operations across multiple UK and international entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts and a narrative on business transactions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Cash Management: Record and process all income and expenses with accuracy and timeliness, manage cash transactions, reconcile receipts to income, and oversee bank accounts.
  • Financial Analysis: Review cash flow needs and prepare basic forecasts, handle supplier invoices and payments, ensuring correct cost coding and payment runs.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Prepare month-end journals and monthly balance sheet reconciliations, report on creditor and debtor aging monthly, providing explanations for aged balances.
  • Intercompany Reconciliation: Reconcile intercompany balances monthly, process monthly payroll and related journals, and assist with VAT returns and other tax submissions.
  • Financial Planning: Collaborate with the Finance Director to finalise Management Reports, contribute to the preparation of year-end financial statements, and support cash flow and budget preparation for the group of companies.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend improvements to financial processes for increased efficiency, assist the Finance Lead and Purchase Ledger clerk with finance operations.
Requirements
  • Part/fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable and Cost Control.
  • FP&A experience is advantageous.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
  • Quick learner with new systems.
