Assistant Management Accountant

Location: Chelmsford (Please note this role is NOT hybrid or remote working)

Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to 35k depending on experience

Hours: 09:00 - 17:30, Monday to Thursday, 09:00 - 17:00 on Friday

Holiday: 23 days per year + bank holidays + Birthday off

Responsibilities:

As the Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a vital role in the organisation's financial operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the Credit Control function to ensure prompt payment within terms.
  • Reconciling the Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger
  • Collaborating with suppliers and customers to effectively resolve queries.
  • Allocating and reconciling bank payments and receipts
  • Assisting the Financial Manager in preparing Management Accounts
  • Providing support and mentoring to apprentice accounts staff
  • Responding to emails and phone calls promptly and professionally
  • Assisting with other accounting duties as required

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • AAT qualification or higher (QBE will be considered)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Proven experience in management accounts and Credit Control
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills
  • Efficient, organised, and professional approach to work
