Payroll Officer

Macildowie Recruitment and Retention is seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring an effective payroll service is provided to all employees.
Main Responsibilities:- Maintain and update payroll records and employee files to ensure accurate records are kept at all times.
- Coordinate employee starter and leaver processes.
- Ensure accurate information is given to the payroll provider for the payment of salaried staff.
- Prepare and process weekly timesheets for various companies across the estate.
- Post payroll journals by company to the finance system.
- Support the purchase ledger clerk with the processing of invoices.
- Support the Finance Manager with the raising of sales invoices and other work as required.
- Act as the first point of contact for HR and payroll queries and ad-hoc requests.
- Chase outstanding debts to ensure prompt payment.
- Perform other duties as required to fulfill the requirements of the post.
- Proficient in the use of computers, especially Excel and Word.
- Excellent computer skills and experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Prior health and safety experience is desirable.
- Prior purchase ledger, sales ledger, and payroll experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to detail.
- Proactive and able to create a positive experience for others.
