Community Support Worker Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker to join our team at Emmaus Hertfordshire. As a key member of our support team, you will work closely with our companions to empower them on their journey to independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement holistic support interventions to promote companions' independence and well-being.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with companions, understanding their unique needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with the support team to ensure seamless delivery of support services.
  • Contribute to the social enterprise, supporting companions in their daily activities and helping to maintain a positive community environment.
  • Identify and address risks or safeguarding concerns, ensuring the well-being of all companions.

Requirements:

  • Practical experience supporting vulnerable adults, with a solid understanding of the challenges faced by those who have been homeless.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with companions and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in IT and ability to maintain accurate records in our database.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the community.
