Role Overview

Utilizing your culinary expertise to uphold the highest standards of food preparation and service is at the core of this position.

As part of a distinguished culinary team, you will engage directly with colleagues to ensure that every dish meets the royal standards. You will work with premium ingredients, focusing on locally sourced and seasonal produce, to create and refine menu offerings for various prestigious events.

Although your primary location will be within a renowned establishment, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills at various esteemed venues throughout the year.

We strive to maintain a balanced work schedule for our kitchen staff, which includes some shifts during convenient hours and designated weekends off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and kitchen staff to guarantee smooth operations and the highest quality of service.
  • Assist the Head Chef with procurement, inventory management, and menu development, providing innovative suggestions for new or enhanced dishes.
  • Oversee and participate in the preparation and production of culinary offerings for a diverse range of events and daily requirements.
  • Mentor and guide junior chefs, fostering their development in various cooking and preparation techniques across all kitchen sections.
  • Ensure compliance with health and hygiene regulations through proper procedural adherence.

Essential Qualifications

  • Possession of a City and Guilds catering qualification (or equivalent) along with substantial experience in a premier catering environment, ideally at a Junior Sous or Sous Chef level.
  • Demonstrated proficiency across all kitchen sections: Larder, Vegetables, Sauces, and Pastry, showcasing your culinary versatility.
  • Exhibit strong leadership qualities, with a talent for motivating, coaching, and supporting junior team members.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to plan and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health and safety standards, ensuring a safe and hygienic kitchen atmosphere.
  • Excellent communication skills to foster positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Able to excel in a dynamic environment where each day presents new culinary challenges and opportunities.
