Private Client Tax Senior/Assistant Manager

Job Purpose
This is a client-facing role where the successful candidate will work alongside senior members of the private client tax team to deliver accurate tax returns and expert advice to a diverse range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, their families, and those with international aspects to their affairs and trusts.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of clients through the annual tax assurance process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of tax returns and advice.
- Tax Return Preparation and Review: Prepare and review tax returns for clients, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Client Advisory Services: Provide expert advice to clients on their personal tax affairs, including income tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax.
- Legislative Research and Analysis: Conduct research and provide technical analysis on legislation affecting various tax issues, ensuring clients are informed and up-to-date.
- Billing and WIP Management: Manage billing and work-in-progress (WIP) for clients, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing.
- Team Collaboration: Work with the wider Private Client Team to identify further advisory opportunities and develop business growth strategies.
- Team Development: Mentor and develop more junior members of the team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
Requirements
- Team Player: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Intellectual Curiosity: A good level of intellectual curiosity, with a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest tax laws and regulations.
- Adaptability and Organization: Adaptable and organized, with a commercial approach to problem-solving.
- Risk Management: An understanding of risk management issues and the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate should be CTA qualified or ATT qualified and currently completing their CTA or qualified by experience. Some prior experience of managing a personal tax assurance portfolio and reviewing tax returns would be required. Some prior experience of dealing with clients with international aspects to their affairs is desired, although not compulsory.
