Position Overview

The Clinical Nurse Specialist plays a pivotal role in enhancing the operation of clinical trials within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific insight to conceptualize, develop, and guide clinical and healthcare-related matters.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the integration of standard operating procedures across various branches, facilitating the smooth execution of clinical treatment trials.
  • Lead a team of clinical advisors to improve safety and efficiency in clinical trials.
  • Deliver direct clinical care to patients involved in specific protocols.
  • Support the Clinical Endocrinology Consult Service with clinical expertise.
  • Establish medical diagnoses for common short-term and chronic stable health issues.
  • Conduct comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations, interpreting findings accurately.
  • Order, perform, and analyze laboratory and diagnostic procedures, executing therapeutic or corrective measures as necessary.
  • Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters.
  • Prescribe medications and provide emergency care as required.
  • Refer patients to appropriate internal consultant services.

Curriculum Development

  • Develop and coordinate educational materials, manuscripts, and presentations related to clinical advising.
  • Work with staff to prepare and edit reports, summaries, and briefing documents that reflect the activities of the branch.

Communication and Outreach

  • Create communication materials for healthcare providers and participate in various clinical and healthcare-related meetings and conferences.
  • Prepare oral and written presentations for both internal and external scientific meetings.
  • Develop outreach strategies to engage students and the general public, fostering relationships with referring agencies and advocacy groups.

Training and Development

  • Provide training sessions for junior advisors and network meeting participants on relevant policies and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Graduate Nursing degree required.
  • Nurse Practitioner certification is essential.

Skills Required

  • Strong communication skills are paramount.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
  • Background in Miscellaneous Health Medical Professions is preferred.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring 30-40 hours per week.
