Statement of WorkDetails

Provides scientificexpertise in order to conceptualize develop and provide guidance onclinical and healthcare related issues.

  • Collaborate with staff on the coordination andintegration of standard operating procedures among these Branchesto facilitate the conduct of clinical treatment trials

Coordinate a team of clinicaladvisors

  • Collaborate withstaff on the design and implementation of new policies andprocedures designed to improve the safety and efficient functioningof clinical trials
  • Provide clinical caredirectly to patients enrolled in Metabolic Disease Branchprotocols
  • Provide clinical support to ClinicalEndocrinology Consult Service
  • Establishmedical diagnosis for common shortterm and chronic stable healthproblems
  • Perform comprehensive medical historyand physical examination and interpret findings
  • Order perform and interpret laboratory and/or diagnosticprocedures Perform therapeutic or corrective measures
  • Phlebotomy
  • Placement of intravenouscatheter
  • Prescribe medications
  • Provide emergency care
  • Referpatients to appropriate intramural consultant services

Develops and coordinates curriculummanuscripts and speeches on clinical advising.

  • Collaborate with staff on the preparation andediting of reports summaries briefing documents programannouncements and presentations relating to activities of theBranch (institute or clinic)

Develops communication for healthcare providersand attends numerous clinical and healthcarerelated meetings andconferences.

  • Prepare oraland written presentations for internal and external programmaticand scientific meetings 4

Develops outreach materials for students and thegeneral public.

  • Work withrecruitment team to enhance/fine tune recruitment strategies andcommunity outreach; develop ongoing relationships with referringagencies and advocacy groups.

Provide training to junioradvisors.
