Job Title: Adult Specialty Doctor

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Specialty Doctor to join our team at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide medical cover for inpatients under consultant supervision, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
  2. Participate in consultant ward rounds, contributing to the development of patient care plans and ensuring effective communication with multidisciplinary teams.
  3. Ensure timely and accurate completion of GP electronic discharge letters, containing all relevant information for patient follow-up.
  4. Offer expert advice to clinical nurse practitioners and junior medical staff, promoting a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes, drug prescriptions, and investigation results, ensuring compliance with trust policies and procedures.
  6. Deliver a first-class clinical service to our patients, prioritizing their needs and well-being.
  7. Ensure effective handover of patient information to colleagues, promoting consistency of care and minimizing errors.
  8. Supervise and teach junior clinical staff, including workplace-based assessments, to support their professional development.
  9. Contribute to the teaching, research, audit, and governance programs within the department, driving excellence and innovation in patient care.
  10. Engage in personal development and appraisal processes to achieve revalidation with the GMC, ensuring ongoing professional growth and competence.
  11. Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve national targets, promoting a culture of quality improvement and patient safety.
