Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced stroke nurse to lead our Stroke Service at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. As a Lead Specialty Nurse, you will work in partnership with the Clinical Lead Therapist to develop and implement strategies for improving stroke care across the trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement stroke service strategies in collaboration with the Clinical Lead Therapist and multidisciplinary team.
  • Assume overall line management responsibility for members of the nursing team.
  • Oversee and have accountability for nurse-led clinics and advise and support other colleagues within primary and secondary care.
  • Devise local strategies to meet nationally and locally set targets in accordance with national strategies and local trust policies.
  • Undertake audit and research projects necessary to the development of the service.

Requirements
  • RN (Adult)
  • Masters degree or evidence of equivalent experience
  • ENB 998 or equivalent teaching certificate
  • Management qualification
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Significant experience of working within the specialty
  • Managing nurse-led clinics and/or ward-based services
  • Managing a team
  • Teaching and mentorship skills
