The Stroke Service at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust is looking for Lead Specialty Nurse for Stroke, who will work in partnership with the Clinical Lead Therapist. This exciting and unique opportunity will allow the successful candidate to work across the whole stroke pathway. As an experienced stroke nurse we would expect the successful candidate to work alongside our Medical, Nursing and AHPs colleagues to ensure the planning of care, treatment and the safe admission and discharge of stroke patients. The successful candidate will work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team and will play an integral role in the operational/ strategic developments of the service leading to the opening of our Hyper Acute Stroke Unit.
Main duties of the job
Along side the Clinical lead, To help to develop stroke service within the Trust and assume overall line management responsibility for members of the nursing team .
To be an advanced clinical practitioner, capable of analysing and making judgements regarding complex facts or situations. They will oversee and have accountability for nurse-led clinics and advise and support other colleagues within primary and secondary care.
In conjunction with the Stroke team and Divisional Director of Nursing, the lead nurse shall devise local strategies to meet nationally and locally set targets. These shall be in accordance with national strategies and local Trust policies.
The post holder may be required to undertake appropriate audit and research projects necessary to the development of the service.
