About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ambulance Care Assistant to join our team at South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. As an Ambulance Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient transport services to our community, ensuring that patients receive safe and dignified care during their journeys.

Key Responsibilities
  • Driving Duties: You will be responsible for driving our ambulance vehicles to transport patients to and from medical appointments, adhering to strict safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Patient Care: You will provide high-quality patient care, including moving and lifting patients who require assistance, and ensuring their safety and comfort during transport.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: You will be responsible for conducting daily vehicle checks to ensure that our ambulances are roadworthy and properly equipped for patient transport.
  • Communication: You will operate our communication systems to coordinate patient transport and respond to emergencies.
  • Teamwork: You will work collaboratively with our team to ensure seamless patient transport services, adhering to our trust's policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: You must hold a full manual UK driving license with no more than 3 points for speeding.
  • Experience: You will have previous experience working in a customer care role, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
  • Skills: You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
