Role Overview
The Social Compliance Specialist plays a vital role in collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that TJX effectively manages business risks through its social compliance monitoring initiatives. This position is responsible for communicating program requirements and expectations to associates, buying agents, and vendors. The role also involves supporting the audit process for third-party evaluations and conducting regular vendor visits to identify potential risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Possess expertise in third-party factory evaluations, with a solid understanding of audit reports and key risk factors pertinent to the industry, including wages, forced labor, child labor, working hours, health, and safety.
- Assess risks and provide recommendations that balance the interests of the company and its suppliers, while understanding the off-price business model and the importance of safeguarding the company's reputation.
- Educate associates, agents, and vendors on program requirements and expectations.
- Facilitate the audit process to ensure compliance with required timelines, including requesting industry-accredited reports or scheduling necessary audits.
- Collaborate with third-party organizations to develop solutions for suppliers regarding key risk areas and recommend strategies for compliance.
- Work closely with other Social Compliance Specialists and the Corporate Social Compliance Team.
- Assist Buyers, Sourcers, and Logistics teams with social compliance-related matters.
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
