Waterman Group is a leading engineering consultancy with a strong presence in the UK, Ireland, and Australia. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead our rail projects.

As a Senior Rail Project/Bids Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our infrastructure projects within the rail sector. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of project delivery, from initial bid development through to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage complex rail projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, quality, safety, risk, and environmental standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients in the rail sector, contributing to business growth and expansion.
  • Spearhead the development of high-value bids for targeted infrastructure opportunities, demonstrating a deep understanding of client requirements and market trends.
  • Oversee project teams, fostering a collaborative environment that delivers world-class engineering solutions on time and within budget.
  • Monitor project progress meticulously, providing regular reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements and addressing any potential challenges.
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks and opportunities, ensuring effective mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Implement innovative approaches to project delivery, leveraging digital tools and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Minimum Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is essential.
  • Chartered Engineer (C.Eng) or Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE) status is highly desirable.
  • Possess a full UK driving license.
  • Hold recognized project management qualifications.
  • Demonstrate extensive experience within the UK Rail sector, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Have a strong understanding of Network Rail, Transport for London (TfL), and other key rail clients.
  • Experience in managing public sector framework agreements is advantageous.
