Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and creative CDP Pastry Specialist to join our culinary team at The Cadogan. As a key member of our pastry department, you will be responsible for preparing and creating a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods that exceed our guests' expectations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Pastry Preparation
    • Create and prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods using high-quality ingredients and traditional techniques.
    • Develop and implement new pastry recipes and menu items that showcase your creativity and skill.
  • Quality Control
    • Ensure that all pastry products meet our high standards of quality, presentation, and taste.
    • Conduct regular quality control checks to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work closely with our Head of Pastry and other team members to coordinate food preparation and service.
    • Provide guidance and support to junior team members to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage pastry inventory levels to ensure that we have the necessary ingredients and supplies to meet demand.
    • Monitor and control waste to minimize costs and reduce our environmental impact.

Requirements

  • Experience
    • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-end restaurant or hotel.
  • Education
    • Degree or diploma in pastry or culinary arts is preferred.
  • Skills
    • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and recipes.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce consistent and beautiful pastries.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.
    • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
