At National Highways, our dedicated team in the Regional Operations Centre plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our road networks. As a Control Room Operator, you will be the initial point of contact for motorists in distress, responding to emergency roadside calls and coordinating assistance.

In this dynamic role, you will:

  • Answer emergency calls from stranded motorists
  • Deploy on-road teams, including Traffic Officers and Maintenance Contractors, to address incidents
  • Communicate effectively with emergency services and utility companies
  • Oversee the management of incidents from initiation to resolution
  • Maintain precise logs of incidents and actions taken
  • Perform administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the Regional Operations Centre

Essential Qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent experience
  • Exceptional communication skills and a professional telephone demeanor
  • Strong organizational and administrative capabilities
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure
  • Typing proficiency of at least 32 words per minute
  • Willingness to work shifts as part of a 24/7 operational team
