Regional Operations Centre Operator

At National Highways, we're committed to delivering exceptional service to our customers. As a Regional Operations Centre Operator, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient management of our road network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to emergency roadside calls and mobilise On Road teams to incidents and requests
  • Transmit and receive messages via radio to Traffic Officers and Emergency Services
  • Instruct contractors to repair urgent defects and damage from incidents
  • Inform other emergency services and utility companies where required
  • Monitor and manage incidents from start to finish
  • Maintain accurate incident logs by recording information gathered from multiple sources
  • Carry out administrative duties to support the safe running and operation of the network and Regional Operations Centre

Requirements:

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above), or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills and telephone manner
  • Strong administration skills
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure
  • High level of typing proficiency, preferably a minimum of 32 words per minute
  • Willingness to work shifts as part of a 24/7 cover
