Position Overview: We are seeking a temporary Personal Assistant to provide support during a maternity leave period.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The candidate will assist a 31-year-old woman who requires support in daily activities due to specific challenges, including Asperger's syndrome, depression, and audio processing difficulties. This role is essential in helping her navigate everyday tasks and improve her independence.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Personal Assistant will be responsible for providing support and assistance to ensure a smooth transition during the maternity leave of the current assistant.
HOURS OF WORK
12 hours per week.
Days and times will be discussed during the interview process. Flexibility is crucial.
COMPENSATION
£12.75 per hour
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitating access to local activities and social outings.
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of daily routines.
- Practicing public transport usage to build confidence in navigating local routes.
- Ensuring safety and well-being at all times.
- Recognizing signs of anxiety and fatigue, and responding appropriately to alleviate distress.
- Helping maintain focus on important tasks.
- Creating structure and routine within the home environment.
- Assisting with correspondence, including reading and explaining mail, and contacting service providers on behalf of the client.
- Scheduling appointments and attending meetings as required.
- Providing clear explanations regarding meetings and follow-up actions.
- Supporting the development of appropriate social skills.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Enthusiastic, positive, and friendly demeanor.
- Strong communication skills and patience.
- Ability to perceive and manage changing moods in a professional manner.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health challenges or Asperger's syndrome is highly desirable.

- Willingness to learn about the client's specific needs and how best to provide support.
- Dependability and reliability are essential.
- Ability to build rapport easily with the client.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
