About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Personal Assistant to provide maternity cover for an individual with Asperger's and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the individual to access local activities and develop daily routines
  • Practice travelling on the bus to build confidence and familiarity with local routes
  • Ensure the individual's safety and well-being at all times
  • Recognise signs of anxiety and fatigue and take appropriate action to alleviate symptoms
  • Assist the individual to maintain focus on important tasks
  • Help create structure and routine within the home
  • Assist with correspondence, reading, and explaining post, as well as contacting companies on behalf of the individual
  • Set up appointments and arrange meetings, and provide support during these events
  • Explain meetings and events in clear detail to the individual
  • Help the individual learn appropriate social cues
Requirements
  • An enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • Good communication skills and patience
  • Ability to manage changing moods and provide professional support
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health or Asperger's diagnoses is desirable
  • Confidentiality and discretion are essential
  • Dependability and reliability are crucial
