Job Purpose

The Digital Marketing Specialist will play a vital role in promoting Stonyhurst College's brand and reputation to prospective parents and pupils; alongside supporting internal departments.

The post holder will assist the Director of Marketing and Communications with the planning and delivery of the annual marketing plan and will have responsibility for managing the day-to-day activities to support key strategic aims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Marketing and Communications, contributing to the department's strategic aims.
  • Regularly optimize all website content considering search engine optimization (SEO) best practices.
  • Write regular blog articles in line with current campaigns and times of the year to drive SEO traffic to the website.
  • Create and manage multiple digital campaigns using marketing automation tools to drive registrations and regularly review to improve performance.
  • Produce digital communications for various campaigns and newsletters, using email marketing software to engage with stakeholders.
  • Manage organic social media planning, scheduling, idea generation, and reporting using social media management tools under the guidance of the Online Marketing Manager.
  • Have basic skills in graphic design software and content creation tools.
  • Support in the management of internal portals and digital projects when required.
  • Brand guardianship to ensure consistency of brand style and understand branding principles.
  • Track digital performance using a number of platforms against an agreed set of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Website maintenance, across all school websites, including instigating a process to ensure that content is current and regularly refreshed and liaising cross-departmentally to facilitate it.
  • Brief marketing collateral to the in-house design team and managing the design process.
  • Remain current with emerging digital technologies, media trends, and developments, advise the team and wider school community as necessary.
  • Research competitor activity and best practice from both within and outside the education sector.
  • Support in budget management.
  • Work flexibly as is necessary within a small department.
  • Comply with and promote the School's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and maintain a safe environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
  • Familiarize with relevant policies and procedures and promote and safeguard the welfare of the children and young people in School.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time within the context of the post.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (Essential).
  • At least three years of experience in a digital marketing role (Essential).
  • Experience of using a content management system (Essential).
  • Experience of managing a budget, i.e., digital advertising spend (Essential).
  • Experience of using social media in a professional context (Essential).
  • Experience in the creation and management of website content (Essential).
  • Strong marketing skills (Essential).
  • High-level verbal and written communication skills (Essential).
  • Motivated and able to manage own priorities, working on concurrent projects, delivering high-quality results to meet agreed deadlines (Essential).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish and maintain good relationships with a diverse range of people (Essential).
  • Able to work and deliver under pressure, and problem solve with confident and effective decision making (Essential).
  • The ability to engage and motivate others (Essential).
  • Willingness to work flexibly on occasions (Essential).

This is a full-time, onsite role.
