Job Title: Community Support Worker
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Community Support Worker to join our team at Moray Council. As a Community Support Worker, you will work with and provide care and support to service users with a range of disabilities or frailties.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide Personal Care and Support: Assist service users with daily living tasks, such as personal care, domestic support, and activities.
- Develop Skills and Independence: Promote the independence and develop skills for service users, enabling them to manage their daily lives effectively.
- Assist with Household Tasks: Provide assistance and guidance/training to service users in all household tasks, including managing finances, budgeting, and social skills development.
- Work with Other Agencies: Collaborate with other agencies, parents, carers, and services to ensure a quality provision of care for service users.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Develop and contribute to the maintenance of service user records and support plans, and act as a key worker when required.
- Training and Development: Participate in regular and ongoing training and team meetings relevant to the needs of the service users.
- Experience: Experience working with adults with a learning disability, or a similar field.
- Literacy and Numeracy: Ability to demonstrate a satisfactory level of literacy and numeracy.
- Registration and Qualifications: Mandatory SSSC registration for new and existing staff, and willingness to undertake SVQ qualification.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to undertake household skills to a required standard, record information accurately, and work independently and/or as part of an effective team.
- Personal Qualities: Self-confident and self-motivated, with active listening and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with service users, family, and staff team.
- Physical and Mental Demands: Must be physically able to undertake a range of movements when carrying out personal care, domestic support, and activities with service users, and handle equipment/people in accordance with moving and handling regulations.
