Assistant Shop Manager Job Description

Sports Direct Malaysia is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Shop Manager to join our team. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our stores.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Shop Manager in leading and managing the outlet team to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales targets.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels, ensuring accurate inventory management and minimizing stock discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve monthly sales targets and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth.
  • Conduct daily morning briefings to ensure the team is informed and aligned with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage and supervise team members, providing coaching and guidance to ensure they meet performance expectations.
  • Ensure all operational and customer service standards are met, including maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
  • Work closely with the Shop Manager to review and analyze sales data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to drive business growth.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders to promote a positive and inclusive store culture.
  • Participate in stock takes, audits, and other store operations as required.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of sales and promotional plans to drive business growth and customer engagement.
Requirements:
  • Certificate/Diploma in Retail Management or relevant discipline.
  • At least 2 years of working experience at a supervisory level in a reputable retail company.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on customer service and sales growth.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
