Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced paediatric nurse to join our team as a Ward Leader on the Rays of Sunshine Ward. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, leading and managing a team of nurses, and contributing to the development of our paediatric liver and gastrointestinal service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, ensuring the needs of our patients are met and their safety is prioritized.
  • Lead and manage a team of nurses, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure they are equipped to deliver excellent care.
  • Contribute to the development of our paediatric liver and gastrointestinal service, working collaboratively with other teams to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the ward, ensuring effective use of resources and maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Trust and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
  • Current NMC Part 1 (Child) registration.
  • Proven leadership and management experience in a paediatric setting.
  • Recognised teaching or mentoring qualification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
