An exciting opportunity has emerged to join the dedicated team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.

We are seeking a proactive individual to become part of our team as an Engineering Technician, supporting our essential services within the healthcare environment.

Shift Patterns: Monday - Friday, 3 PM to 7 PM

(Additional hours may be available on an ad-hoc basis if desired)

Key Responsibilities

Candidates should possess experience working in a healthcare setting and have the knowledge necessary to support operational requirements. It is crucial that applicants have prior experience in a hospital or care environment and can demonstrate their qualifications during the interview process. A strong understanding of patient needs and a compassionate, patient-centered approach in line with our Trust values are essential.

The role involves direct interaction with patients to manage service requests, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support. Therefore, exceptional communication skills are a must.

Engineering Technicians are responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, completing necessary documentation, and having a basic understanding of safety protocols.

The position requires the use of various equipment, and while comprehensive training will be provided, candidates should be prepared for a physically demanding role that includes standing, lifting, and working in diverse environments.

Detailed Responsibilities

- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with ward staff and other departments.
- Ensure patient needs are met regarding service requests.
- Interact courteously and respectfully with patients and their families, maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
- Accurately complete necessary documentation and follow instructions from senior staff.
- Ensure timely communication of service requests to facilitate efficient operations.
