Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Design Engineer to join our team at TEC Partners - Technical Recruitment Specialists. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex electronic systems for medical devices and in-house test rigs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electronic circuits and systems for medical devices and test rigs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, firmware, and mechanical engineers
  • Provide detailed technical documentation for deployed hardware
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as directed by the manager
  • Adhere to company values and industry standards
  • Conduct PCB rework, cuts, and straps
  • Set up test benches and test PCBs for functionality per specifications
  • Utilize and understand basic bench equipment
  • Discuss designs with junior and senior staff
  • Work independently for extended periods
  • Design schematics in Altium
  • Make layout changes in Altium
  • Recommend and implement design changes on PCBs
  • Discuss software requirements with software engineers
  • Collaborate with layout engineers to transfer designs
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Manage, generate, and update library control
  • Design for test and manufacture
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in electronics design and development
  • Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end electronics hardware and integration development
  • Knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques for volume production, including assembly and cost structure
  • Excellent verbal and active listening communication skills with internal and external partners
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong self-organization skills
  • Pragmatic, self-motivated, and proactive
Desirable Experience
  • Fluid/air handling, motion control systems (motor drivers, relays), optical sensors and switches, thermal control systems
  • Medical device development to ISO 13485, high reliability, safety critical, and automotive environments
  • Reviewing existing designs
  • Planning and architecting for cost reductions and manufacturability
  • Working with interdisciplinary, international teams
  • Familiarity with FMEA and equivalent processes
  • Experience with EMC and safety testing
Working Conditions
  • Work primarily in a laboratory or office environment, with some off-site work possible when bench work or similar activities are not required.
