Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Plant Construction & Commissioning Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our Nuclear New Build business, you will play a critical role in supporting major stakeholders in the nuclear sector during the construction phase of new nuclear power stations.

As a Nuclear Plant Construction & Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering support to clients during the construction, commissioning, and startup phases of new nuclear power stations. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation and regulations, as well as maintaining a strong safety culture commensurate with nuclear and high-hazard industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support to clients during the construction, commissioning, and startup phases of new nuclear power stations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and regulations.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture commensurate with nuclear and high-hazard industry standards.
  • Develop and deliver a pipeline of work to support the growth and deployment of capable staff as clients' projects move from construction through commissioning and pre-operations into operations.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in Construction or Operational Support activities, including but not limited to:
  • Operational Roles and/or Operational Support Roles at operational Nuclear Power Plants (ideally PWR technology plants), or another highly regulated industry.
  • Credible as a safety-conscious professional, with behaviours and competencies that support a strong safety and delivery culture.
  • Experienced in the construction, commissioning, pre-operational or operational environments with a strategic awareness of international best practice and operational focus.
  • Experienced in the maintenance and outage environments for operational facilities, bringing a strategic view of international best practice and the execution of work.
  • Motivated to apply a mixture of technical and operational expertise to develop the right skills in our teams to support our clients in the latter stages of major nuclear new build projects and into the operational phases.
