Care Home Chef

We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Care Home Chef to join our esteemed team. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of older adults and individuals living with dementia by providing nutritious and delicious meals that contribute to their well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement menus that cater to diverse dietary needs, including medical and cultural preferences, in collaboration with residents and management.
  • Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and food safety within the kitchen environment. This includes adhering to all relevant regulations and protocols.
  • Manage the ordering, receiving, and quality control of food supplies. Ensure efficient stock management and minimize waste.
  • Prepare a variety of meals that are both appetizing and nutritious, taking into account individual preferences and dietary restrictions.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a cook in a similar setting, such as a care home or catering establishment.
  • A strong understanding of food safety principles and best practices.
  • Excellent culinary skills and the ability to prepare a wide range of dishes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, staff, and management.
