Aeropeople is actively seeking a B2 Licensed Engineer specializing in line maintenance for a Sponsored Reservist role. This position is offered on behalf of our esteemed client located in Carterton, Oxfordshire.

This role presents a unique opportunity to engage with a premier aviation service provider, dedicated to fostering the growth and development of its workforce. The primary responsibility of the B2 Licensed Engineer is to execute aircraft maintenance activities in compliance with the company's quality standards and regulatory airworthiness requirements. You will collaborate closely with the Shift Manager to ensure that operational services align with all contractual obligations.

As a Sponsored Reservist, you will be employed by our client, distinct from being a member of the RAF. Your deployment will be specific to the client’s aircraft, and during periods of non-deployment, you will revert to your civilian role within the organization.

To qualify for the Sponsored Reservist designation, candidates must possess a UK passport, maintain medical and dental fitness, and uphold the necessary fitness standards.

This position entails a mix of day and night shifts, requiring flexibility for deployment of up to six months each year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Report to the Shift Manager or designated deputy regarding the receipt, dispatch, and servicing of aircraft, including pre-flight inspections, daily and weekly checks, scheduled maintenance, component replacements, repairs, mandatory inspections, role transitions, and aircraft refueling.
  • Certify all maintenance and servicing tasks within the scope of your authorization under the oversight of the Quality Manager.
  • Ensure that all technical personnel under your supervision adhere to safety protocols and follow relevant documentation.
  • Manage documentation for aircraft under your control, ensuring timely and accurate certification entries.
  • Oversee the handling of materials and company equipment required for tasks, maintaining cleanliness in the work area.
  • Be prepared to conduct AOG recovery operations for aircraft from deployed missions at short notice.
  • Collaborate with planning teams to discuss technical issues and upcoming scheduled inputs.
  • Coordinate the ground movement of aircraft as assigned by the Shift Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Report safety or disciplinary issues to the immediate Line Manager.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
  • Maintain a commitment to delivering a safe service in all aspects of the role, in line with the Safety Management System, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Act as a deputy for senior engineer roles during periods of absence.
  • Utilize the company’s Maintenance IT Support systems as necessary.
  • Operate all Company provided Ground Support Equipment in accordance with authorizations.
  • Adopt a safety-focused approach in all work activities.
  • Possess knowledge of relevant company administrative processes.
  • Demonstrate document control management skills.
  • Participate in emergency response actions and drills.
  • Encourage staff engagement and open reporting within a just culture.
  • Be aware of human factors and their potential implications.

  • Attestation payment of £3,313.44 upon attestation
  • Bounty payments of £3,313.44 twice yearly for Sponsored Reservists (subject to deployability)

Candidate Requirements:

  • B2 UK CAA Licence.
  • Must pass a CP2 Colour Vision Test.
  • At least one of the following type ratings: Airbus A330/A320/A321/A380 or Boeing B747/B777/B787.
  • Experience in both line and base maintenance environments.
  • Proven experience with commercial or military aircraft.
  • Prior company approvals on commercial or military aircraft are preferred.
  • Experience in a MOD environment is advantageous.
  • Outstation experience is desirable.
  • Possess a full UK driving licence.
