About the Role

Bunn Abbott Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Cash Operations Assistant to join our client's team. As a leading writer of Property & Casualty Re/insurance, our client has a strong reputation for helping customers and communities recover and build resilience through their industry-leading ability to understand risk, source efficient capital, and rapidly pay claims.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of cash management for reinsurance transactions in the company's risk and accounting systems. This will involve working closely with the Underwriting and Finance teams to reconcile Broker/Cedant Statements of Accounts, booking and applying/matching of cash receipts and disbursements, and processing financial account messages.

Main Responsibilities
  • Reconciliation of Broker/Cedant Statements of Accounts
  • Booking and applying/matching of cash receipts and disbursements
  • Processing of all financial account messages
  • Working with technical/claims teams to resolve issues with cash allocation
  • Monitoring accounts receivable and reports for overdue accounts
  • Reviewing cash in suspense balances and following up on a timely basis
  • Preparing and analyzing AR gross up
  • Liaising with brokers/coverholders and clients to resolve aged debt issues
  • Maintenance of documentation of anticipated receipts, cash disbursements, and broker queries/follow-ups
  • Management of all intercompany payments and receipts
  • Providing regular updates to the team and manager
  • Assisting in creating efficiencies and value creation
  • Participating in special projects or ad hoc tasks
  • Ensuring all functions are carried out with a high degree of quality and in a timely manner
Requirements
  • Approximately 4 years of experience in Credit Control, Cash Management, or Finance gained in a Re/Insurer or similar industry
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to pick up new systems quickly
  • Excellent Problem Solving, analytical, organisational, and written and verbal communication/relationship building skills
