Ceded Reinsurance – Senior Specialist

The Ceded Reinsurance division is a pivotal segment within AXA Group, tasked with formulating and executing the reinsurance strategy while overseeing the management of all reinsurance treaties throughout their duration. This function is integral to the AXA Group Risk Management framework, with the Chief Risk Officer being a key member of the leadership team.

The Ceded Re Operations team is accountable for the administration of all Treaty Reinsurance activities conducted within AXA Group. This team encompasses four essential areas: Technical Operations, Technical Accounting, Data & Operations Reporting, and Central Operations.

This position is situated within the Ceded Reinsurance Technical Operations team, which is responsible for:

Managing Global Specialty Non-Marine Treaty, including claims identification and application of Ceded Reinsurance.

The selected candidate will be expected to handle Non-Marine Specialty lines of business claims, which may include, but are not limited to:

· Fine Art and Specie

· Aquaculture

· Accident and Health

· Product Recall

· Equine

· WTPV

· Commercial Bond

· Sports & Leisure

· Title

· Crisis Management

Key Responsibilities:

· Ensure accurate reflection of all Treaty placements within Ceded Re for Specialty Non-Marine in core systems, including appropriate XOL allocations in financial reports.

· Operate and manage Ceded reinsurance across three operational system tools.

· Collaborate with intermediaries to address account inquiries and sanction-related matters.

· Build strong relationships with the operations team based in shared services, facilitating regular discussions to address workload and issues.

· Review and approve new policy setups initiated by shared services in core systems.

· Maintain consistent communication with Placement and S&A teams, particularly during renewal periods, leading discussions on Technical Operations requirements.

· Ensure compliance with all contractual reporting obligations.

· Monitor tracking reports to confirm timely issuance of defined Specialty quarterly accounts, alerting management and brokers of any missed deadlines.

· Oversee the quarterly accrual process for designated Specialty lines, ensuring accurate reporting of any unaccounted premiums to the Finance team.

· Manage the Retro RI process to guarantee that all applicable inward risks are associated with QS accounts.

· Uphold all key control and business controls as outlined in the control narrative.

· Engage in and support transformation and innovation initiatives.

· Track inward claim movements to identify and apply ceded recoveries, calculating and recording these in core underwriting systems for both QS and XOL. Perform sign-off on significant collections and advisories based on audit thresholds.

· Review Ceded comments from the shared services team on weekly/monthly reports to ensure proper application of Ceded to Treaty, managing the control framework for Ceded claims.

· Collaborate closely with the Ceded Claims team to assist with commutation requests and manage complex claims.

· Review and approve any claim alerts for the line of business, ensuring accuracy for broader management communication.

· Assist in both internal and external audits related to claims requests, providing necessary documentation.

· Ensure all contractual reporting requirements are met and reviewed as part of weekly movement reports.

· For losses involving the Insurance & Reinsurance segment, ensure comprehensive coverage under Global policies and appropriate reporting.

· Work alongside the Technical Accounting team to support the credit control process and enhance cash flow, providing necessary narratives and reports for ceded claims, and assisting with aged debt and collateral requests.

Candidate Profile:

We are seeking an individual with the following qualifications:

· Experience across multiple lines of business within a claims environment in previous insurance roles.

· Proficient in MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.

· Strong ability to engage with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.

· Excellent collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

· Committed to quality and accuracy in work output.

· Exceptional time management and organizational skills.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

· Experience working with virtual teams.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present effectively.

· Capacity to meet tight deadlines to ensure accurate financial reporting.
