Job Description

At Bruin, we are seeking a highly skilled Reinsurance Technician to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our syndicate, you will play a critical role in the management and administration of reinsurance contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the placement and administration of reinsurance contracts, including facultative and treaty reinsurance.
  • Maintain accurate records of all reinsurance transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines.
  • Liaise with underwriters, claims teams, brokers, and other stakeholders to provide technical support and ensure smooth reinsurance processes.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external meetings.
  • Monitor reinsurance recoverables and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Coordinate the submission of bordereaux and reinsurance documentation as required.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of processes within the reinsurance team.
  • Support with regulatory reporting and audits.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a reinsurance technician role, preferably within a Lloyd's syndicate or London Market environment.
  • Strong knowledge of reinsurance contracts, including both facultative and treaty business.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with relevant reinsurance systems.
