About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Caretaker to join our Communal Services Team in Central and West London. As a Mobile Caretaker, you will play a vital role in ensuring our properties and surrounding areas are clean, tidy, safe, secure, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Ensure all properties covered by the mobile team are cleaned to a high standard, including regular sweeping of external areas, removing litter from communal gardens, cleaning internal areas, and prompt removal of graffiti.
  • Reporting and Follow-up: Report and follow up on all communal repairs, ensuring that issues are addressed promptly and efficiently.
  • Health and Safety: Inspect play equipment regularly and report any repairs or breakages to ensure the equipment is safe for use.
  • Site Inspections: Participate in site inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure that our properties meet the highest standards.
  • Customer Service: Provide advice and signpost residents to other services, and report any support needs to the Housing Services Team.
  • Image and Reputation: Maintain a positive image of the Estate Services team and Octavia Housing, ensuring that our reputation is upheld at all times.
  • Flexibility: Work flexibly at a large number of different sites as required, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to go above and beyond.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Background in Cleaning or Caretaking: A background in cleaning, caretaking, or building management, with a sound knowledge of health and safety practices and requirements.
  • Health and Safety Knowledge: A good understanding of COSHH and Manual Handling, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deal with residents' concerns and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Physical Ability: The ability to carry out physical tasks on a daily basis, including lifting and carrying equipment.
