Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Highway Supervisor to join our team at Marlborough Highways Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating teams of directly employed and subcontract labor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safe running of allocated sites and monitor the implementation and control of safe working procedures.
  • Prepare and implement risk assessments and method statements.
  • Manage and liaise with subcontractors as appropriate.
  • Monitor freelance and temporary schemes staff.
  • Conduct weekly health and safety and environmental inspections.
  • Minimize the cost of works through correct programming and utilization of labor, plant, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Identify variations to the contract through work records and site measurements.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the contract plan and procedures, with risk assessments and method statements.
  • Monitor and provide records of all items of work, including day works.
  • Check drawings, site instructions, work orders, and contract documents for any anomalies or lack of information.
  • Monitor the standard of work of all employees and contractors.
  • Take off material for procurement in accordance with the contract program.
  • Check materials delivered to site and report any non-conformities.
  • Ensure labor, plant, and material castings are entered onto the computerized works management system on a daily basis.
  • Assist with the collection of measurement information to enable the works to be valued.
Requirements
  • Prior supervisory experience ideally within a highways setting.
  • Understanding of highways term maintenance contracts.
  • Driving license.
  • Strong background in working in accordance with health and safety policies and procedures.
