Job Overview
We are seeking Highway Maintenance Apprentices for various locations:
- Barnet (North London)
- Sevenoaks (Kent)
- Brentwood (Essex)
- Croydon
- Ringmer (Sussex)
As a Highway Maintenance Apprentice, you will be required to travel to North London for induction and 4 days a month for training. A travel allowance is provided for this.
The apprenticeship includes:
- Level 2 Diploma and NVQ in Highway Maintenance Operations
- Functional Skills in Mathematics and English at Level 2 (if not already achieved)
- Abrasive Wheels
- First Aid at Work
- Manual Handling
- Reversing Banksman
- Streetworks (NRSWA)
Upon completion of induction, you will be placed in an experienced gang working on roads around your base. You will have a supervisor and work mentor.
Requirements
To be eligible, you must:
- Be over 18 years old for Health and Safety reasons
- Hold a full driving license and have access to a vehicle for commuting
- Have relevant work experience in areas such as construction, groundworks, laboring, landscape gardening, or excavation
- Display a strong work ethic and good timekeeping
- Reside near one of the listed postcodes
- Possess a qualification in a construction-related field (if applicable)
