We are seeking a dedicated Raw Materials Technologist to enhance our exceptional team. This position is pivotal in ensuring the quality and compliance of our raw materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage raw material specifications (ingredients, packaging, and consumables) and conduct necessary reviews to ensure suitability and compliance.
  • Update specification templates using software or Microsoft Office tools.
  • Collect product-specific approval documentation from current and prospective suppliers, including formal accreditations (e.g., BRC and other certification schemes), Supplier Approval Questionnaires (SAQs), and HACCP documentation.
  • Support the Senior Raw Material Technologist in maintaining supplier documentation to ensure compliance and audit readiness in accordance with regulations and customer standards.
  • Evaluate new raw materials and collaborate with New Product Development (NPD) and Procurement teams to provide constructive feedback and alternative solutions.
  • Assist in implementing profit improvement strategies related to raw material supply, working closely with Purchasing and technical/NPD teams to ensure timely changes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • HND or equivalent qualification in food science or a related field.
  • HACCP Level 2 certification.
  • Proficient in IT, particularly Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Authenticate/Food Connected training (desirable).
  • Familiarity with Recipe Professor Training (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Allergen Training (desirable).
  • Understanding of VACCP principles (desirable).

We are particularly interested in candidates with technical experience in food manufacturing, knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), and familiarity with food safety standards and raw material specifications.
