Job Overview:
The Logistics Coordinator will oversee the strategic planning and management of our freight operations. This position demands a meticulous individual with exceptional organizational capabilities and a background in logistics management. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal use of our transportation resources, adherence to delivery timelines, and compliance with all relevant transport regulations.

Core Responsibilities:

Logistics Management:

  • Formulate and execute efficient logistics strategies for freight operations to fulfill client delivery expectations.
  • Enhance routing and scheduling of transport vehicles to guarantee peak efficiency and cost savings.
  • Supervise and modify logistics plans as needed to accommodate fluctuations in demand or unexpected challenges.

Vehicle Oversight:

  • Manage the distribution and utilization of transport vehicles to satisfy operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure all vehicles are kept in optimal condition and undergo regular inspections.
  • Oversee documentation and records related to vehicle operation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

Compliance Assurance:

  • Guarantee that all freight operations adhere to applicable regulations, including health and safety standards, environmental policies, and legal obligations.
  • Remain informed about updates in transport legislation and industry best practices.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Engage with drivers and clients to facilitate seamless freight operations.
  • Cultivate and maintain new business relationships with clients.
  • Provide clear guidance and support to drivers regarding routes, schedules, and delivery specifications.
  • Address any challenges or delays promptly and effectively, upholding high standards of client service.

Continuous Development:

  • Track key performance metrics, generate regular reports on vehicle idling, fuel consumption, and overall operations.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancement and implement strategies to boost efficiency and service quality.
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at elevating overall operational performance.
  • Seek opportunities to streamline processes and reduce expenses in freight operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in logistics management, particularly within the freight sector.
  • Comprehensive understanding of transport regulations and compliance standards.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software.
