Investment Associate

CPP Investments is a leading professional investment management organization seeking a highly skilled Investment Associate - Infrastructure to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure investment team, you will be responsible for analyzing investment opportunities, performing due diligence, and monitoring ongoing financial and operational performance of our portfolio companies.
Key Responsibilities- Investment Analysis: Build complex dynamic financial models to analyze investment opportunities, including testing assumptions and sensitivities.
- Due Diligence: Perform due diligence on opportunities, including past and projected financial performance, quality of management teams, investment merits and risks, expected returns, regulatory environment, industry dynamics, and other relevant factors.
- Valuation Analysis: Perform valuation analysis, including discounted cash flow (DCF), precedent transactions, and comparable company analysis.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Meet with company management, review past performance, strategy, outlook, regulatory and industry issues, and other relevant topics as required.
- Relationship Building: Liaise with investment partners and advisors, monitor ongoing financial and operational performance of infrastructure investments, identify and help implement performance improvement initiatives at portfolio companies, and assist in building and leveraging relationships with portfolio company management teams.
- Knowledge Sharing: Share knowledge by coordinating and entering information into knowledge management databases and perform other relevant duties and projects as assigned.
- Experience: Commensurate experience in investment banking or private equity with an emphasis on infrastructure is desirable.
- Education: A minimum of an undergraduate degree and a track record of academic achievement.
- Skills: Strong research, financial modeling, analytical, and valuation skills, ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and a team player who enjoys a high-performance culture.
- Travel: Willingness to travel in a future environment where it is safe to do so.
