Position Overview

The selected candidates will be integrated into the Medicine Division, focusing primarily on Acute Care. The organization promotes collaborative teamwork among staff members, encouraging full participation in departmental activities. The appointees will be involved in the on-call schedule, which may vary based on service demands and prior arrangements.

Senior Medical Practitioners are expected to offer professional guidance and development to all Junior Doctors, Physician Associates, and Advanced Clinical Practitioners, overseeing the general clinical management of patients admitted to the facility.

These practitioners will also engage in the daily training of junior medical personnel and contribute to all educational initiatives organized by the division. Compliance with the organization's policies and ongoing professional development through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is essential.

Key Responsibilities

The current on-call schedule operates on a 1 in 15 basis. During on-call periods, you will supervise the management of acute admissions and provide support to the wards as necessary. The on-call team comprises registrar-level doctors (ST3+), Senior House Officers, Foundation Year 1 doctors, and physician associates, alongside a nursing team responsible for managing catheters, cannulas, ECGs, IV fluids, and certain prescribing tasks.

Qualifications

Essential

  • MRCP or an equivalent medical qualification
  • Applicants must be registered with the General Medical Council and possess a Licence to Practise
