About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at RED Engineering Design. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of electrical systems for data centres and other mission-critical projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems for data centres and other mission-critical projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Develop and specify applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for building engineering services purposes
  • Survey, test, and report on existing electrical installations
  • Represent the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractors
  • Prepare specification modifications and ensure engineering calculations and drawings meet industry and legal standards
  • Validate input from junior engineers and support the delivery of projects in accordance with the company's project delivery process
Requirements
  • HND or degree qualified or equivalent experience
  • Working towards or have achieved MCIBSE/MIEE or equivalent
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status
  • Experience of specification design/drawing for at least one building type
  • Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation
  • Knowledge of MS Office and ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software
  • Good understanding of BS standards
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and work to deadlines
  • Managerial skills and ability to act in an ethical manner
