About the Role

RED Engineering Design is seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Bicester.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement electrical systems for small projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Design and specify control systems, instruments, and operating systems for building services purposes.
  • Conduct site surveys, tests, and reports on existing electrical installations.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project delivery meets technical specifications and customer expectations.
  • Prepare and modify specifications, drawings, and engineering calculations to meet project needs.
  • Validate input from junior engineers and ensure adherence to industry and legal standards.
  • Support project delivery through effective project management, financial management, QA/QC, and technical review.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant HND or degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Working towards or achieved MCIBSE/MIEE or equivalent.
  • A clear path towards Chartered Engineer status.
  • Experience in specifying and designing for at least one building type.
  • Strong knowledge of key health and safety issues and legislation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
  • Familiarity with BS standards and ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Managerial skills and the ability to act ethically, following the company's Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines.
  • Background in consulting or construction, with an understanding of international working and global business operations.
