Job Title: Reserve Community Outreach Support Worker

Longhurst Group is a leading housing provider across the Midlands & East of England, committed to enhancing communities and improving the lives of both our colleagues and customers. We are seeking a Reserve Community Outreach Support Worker to join our Supported Housing team, providing a comprehensive range of support services to customers with profound and enduring Mental Health issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maximise the independence of individuals requiring support, enabling real choices in how they lead their lives.
  • Provide housing-related support, including assisting with benefits entitlements, rent and household bills, securing accommodation, and accessing employment, volunteering, and training opportunities.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as shopping, supervising medication, and prompting clients to complete domestic chores. Provide social inclusion support to build confidence in accessing the community.
  • Maintain accurate records of support provided, risk assessments, and support plans.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies, including Peterborough City Council, NHS services, and Cambridgeshire County Council.
Requirements:
  • Able to work in a similar role supporting individuals with enduring mental health needs, although we welcome candidates starting their Care careers or interested in pursuing a new career within Mental Health/Social Work.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Mental Health and related issues beneficial.
  • Comfortable challenging negative beliefs and providing positive behaviour support, demonstrating a supportive and caring nature.
  • Good communication and listening skills, with a strong ability to provide advice to customers.
  • Essential requirement: hold a full driver's licence for access to a fleet of pool cars.
