Job Title: Design Manager

Location: Hybrid, Walsall based with travel

Salary: Up to £65k Plus Company car/Allowance and benefits

A fantastic new opportunity for a Design Manager to lead our team of Mechanical/Electrical Engineers teams running our biggest water projects. You'll be based from our hub in Walsall but have a remit that covers the UK, working on projects for our biggest customers in the water industry. The projects range from £250k to £5m plus so you'll be used to leading teams of engineers and working with varied clients and project managers.

OnSite is part of SSI within the South Staffordshire Group - the 3000 employee-strong group behind South Staffs and Cambridge water and a host of other businesses that feed into the utilities sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring technical resources are managed effectively by working with the Senior Management Team and regional Frameworks Managers to co-ordinate design resource
  • Leading our in-house design and engineering team to ensure an effective and efficient systems engineering approach
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team comprising planners, designers, engineers, direct delivery teams, suppliers and subcontractors

Requirements:

  • To be a passionate Design Manager with experience ideally in the Water Process environment, who has a practical and proven understanding of Design solution development and implementation
  • To have good commercial awareness with developing influencing and negotiating skills, as well as an aptitude to develop relationships with clients and end users
  • A full driving licence and there will be an element of working away with the role as and when required
